Plug
This plug is designed to provide an effective secondary seal on the valve.
This is a requirement for some life raft approvals. This
plug can also be
useful in preventing air loss through the pressure relief valve when an
inflatable chamber is experiencing heavy impacts in rough
seas which can
cause pressure spikes.
The plugs are available in Black or Red.
The plug is highly resistant to
ozone, oil and other contaminants normally
found in the marine environment
Please note that with the plug in place the valve is no longer able to
function as a pressure relief valve.
Filter Cap
If the A6 valve is installed in an area where it may experience large
amounts of sand or silt this filter cap is ideal for
ensuring that the valve
continues to seal effectively.
The stainless steel mesh has been selected to ensure that any particles that
pass through are small enough not to cause leakage problems. However the
flow area is large enough to avoid the valve flow becoming too restrictive.
The mesh cap can be easily removed for cleaning or to allow the fitting of a
plug if necessary.
Service Spanner
This is a low cost spanner for use in the field in case an A6 or C7 valve
needs cleaning or replacing. The spanner slips easily into a spares kit due
to its small size. This spanner does not tighten to a
pre-set torque, so the valve must be tightened as much as possible using
just hand pressure and then checked for leakage. It is not possible to
overtighten the valve using just this spanner
Factory spanner
The factory spanners are designed to allow the correct installation torque
to be applied to the valve when fitting. The correct torque is important in
ensuring reliable clamping of the valve.
The spanner is designed to accept a ½ inch torque wrench. The second part of
the spanner has a square machined on to it so fitting can
be simplified by locating it in a vice.
